I Love Animals

Spring is finally here (dare I say that when we had hail only 2 days ago?)! Maybe I'm jinxing it, but it was 65 degrees today and so wonderfully sunny! Since moving into Rock Springs, I've noticed all the "wildlife" crawling around my apartment and I love, love, love these little critters.

Creature #1: Louie
When Chris moved into Rock Springs almost 2 years ago, I quickly discovered this little critter that lives near his apartment. I get so excited everytime I see his cute little face perk up. He is officially called a marmot, better known as a groundhog. These animals hibernate during the winter but Louie revealed himself earlier this week after his four month long hinernation. I was quite enthused!

Creature(s) #2: Frogs
While Chris and I are in the same apartment complex, there is a "swamp"/pond that is between our buildings (plus a street- but that's a tangent). When its warm weather you can hear the frogs chirping all day, and especially at night... I heard them for the first time late last week! I almost caught one last spring too, but decided against it since I still have my African Dwarf Frogs - Phoebe and Nemo.

Creature #3: Chipmunk
Today I was sitting in my living room and just happened to look out into my "backyard" and saw a little chipmunk skipping along the edge of porch area! It totally made my day! I didn't get a picture of the chipmunk (obviously), but here is a picture of my backyard area.

*Update: As I was inserting the pictures below, the chipmunk ran by again!

Our apartment building backs up to the Nazarene Church next door (you can see the kids' play equipment in the above picture). However, I also have this pretty view of the Cross, which I can see just by looking out my window!
