Snow Day in Cheney?

It has always been an urban legend that EWU once cancelled school due to snow conditions... until this week it became a reality...
As a senior I've have survived three cold winters, and I'm currently enduring my fourth. Cheney winters are frigid, and despite -7 degree weather, lots of snow, and icy sidewalks- school goes on. Even just last week, EWU doors remained open despite the fact all other Cheney schools were closed.

However, Saturday at 11:00am it started snowing, and by snowing I mean "dumping insane amounts". And it kept it up... never once slowing down... all the way until Sunday evening. We got somewhere around 11 inches. To my surprise, Eastern actually cancelled classes Monday... and Tuesday! For your viewing pleasure, I've documented this monumental time in history with photos and a homemade video. I thought those on the West side of the state would especially appreciate these "digital artifacts" as any snow day remotely close to this would be considered the Apocalypse in the Seattle area.

On Monday afternoon, January 28th, Chris and I took a drive around part of the perimeter of campus. While nothing compares to seeing the snow in person, perhaps this video will begin to explain why school truly was impossible. Thanks to Chris for helping me "slice" this together.
